06 – 2017 – VW Caddy (C2) 1.6 TDI (75/90/102 bhp) tuning

News of the month June

The VW Caddy from 2010 until current, called C2 can be equipped with a 1.6 liter turbo diesel engine with engine code CAY (A/B/C -> 75/90/102bhp). Stock performance can vary between 75 to 102 bhp (55 – 75kW) depended on ECU calibration. Yes, correct… the ECU calibration is the difference between these engine performance figures and not engine hardware.

The engine is controlled by a Continental Siemens PCR2.1 ECU. When this ECU is re-calibrated the performance figures can exceed 140bhp (102kW) and 300Nm of torque. Most of these vehicles are used for construction work and can be loaded with heavy tools for the owners job. Once loaded the vehicle performance will decrease due to the added weight. Once the vehicle is re-calibrated by KARREMAN Engineering the owner can enjoy a more powerfull engine over the complete engine speed range giving more flexability and driving pleasure.

Below is an enige performance graph from a chip-tuned VW Caddy 1.6 TDI. Be aware that, if you desire less torque and / or power can be programmed by us.
